WHAT WEEK OF MY PREGNANCY SHOULD I DO A MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT?
Ideally, you’ll be in your third trimester when you do a maternity photoshoot – so between 30-35 weeks. (7-8 months). This is typically the point when your belly bump becomes a nice shape. If you’re expecting twins, I’d suggest you do your photoshoot earlier - so in your 2nd trimester. Your bump will already be a lovely shape by then.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY MATERNITY SHOOT?
To make the most of your bump, select an outfit that has a flattering silhouette. Lots of my mums-to-be wear flowy garments with lots of movement like a maxi dress where we can capture lots of swishing shots.

 

I’ve also got several maternity gowns and bodysuits that my clients can choose from, in a range of colours and styles, as well as a variety of gorgeous flowing material where we can do some tasteful nude and underwear shots.

The key with any outfit is comfort and good underwear! Try to wear lose fitting comfortable underwear that won’t leave marks on your skin or show through clothing. Have more questions? I’m always on hand to help my clients with any clothing and colour advice so please drop me an email.

DO YOU PROVIDE HAIR AND MAKE-UP?
You may add hair and make-up to your studio maternity session. I work with two wonderful make up artists, Courteney Bell Hair and Makeup and Frey De Paoli Make Up Artist.

Pending availability, you can add makeup and hair to your session: pricing starts at £40 for make up and £70 for hair and makeup. Please allow an extra hour to your photoshoot and request hair and makeup at the time of your booking. Hair and makeup will take place in the Jessica Sharp Photography studio.

CAN MY PARTNER AND CHILDREN BE INCLUDED IN MY MATERNITY PHOTOS?
Yes! Like each pregnancy, each maternity photoshoot is different and tailored to you. When you book your session, we will have a chat about your preferred style and whether you want partners, children or even pets included. 

DO I HAVE TO DO NUDE OR SKIN BARING SHOTS?

No. This is totally up to you. Prior to your session we will chat through the style look you want for your maternity photos. The photo session will always be tailored to your comfort level.

CAN MY MATERNITY PHOTOS BE TAKEN AT MY HOME?
Yes! Your maternity photos can be taken in your home or any other location of your choice. Please see my maternity lifestyle gallery for some ideas and inspiration.

My cosy home studio is in Fleet, Hampshire.
